The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has Grant Aid as the financial arrangement to support beneficiaries in developing countries for development of social and economic infrastructure, such as the construction of hospitals or bridges, as well as education, HIV/AIDS awareness, children’s health, the environment and other areas.
JICA’s Grant Aid programs are available in certain countries only or at least it has been publicized so. JICA’s own website may not have enough information to understand its grantmaking opportunities to NGOs but the websites of Japanese embassies in various countries do contain details on available funding for NGOs and how to apply for it.
For example, we can find the Japanese grant opportunity called the “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) in its Embassy website of Sri Lanka. This grant offers a chance for NGOs in Sri Lanka to apply and receive support for their projects.
You can search for the website of the Japanese Embassy in your country at this link.
