Applications are invited from individuals, multi-disciplinary teams or community groups from all over the world for St. Andrews Global Environmental Prize 2016. The primary objective of the prize is to find innovative solutions to environmental challenges. The solutions should be practical, scalable and able to be replicated in other places, combining good science, economic reality and political acceptability.
St. Andrews Prize for the Environment is an initiative by the University of St Andrews in Scotland and the international integrated energy company, ConocoPhillips. The Prize recognizes significant contributions to environmental conservation.
Prize Information
Annual prize, which is $100,000 USD for the winner and $25,000 USD for each of the other two finalists.
Diverse topics for the prize are as follows:
- Biodiversity
- Sustainable development in the Amazon rainforest
- Urban regeneration
- Recycling
- Health and water issues
- Renewable energy
