Baran Samajkallyan Sangstha (BSS) is a local non-government, non-profitable, non-political, non-sectarian voluntary development organization initiated & dedicated for the promotion of Socio-economic development of the landless, shelter-less marginalized farmers since 2007. Since inception BSS is committed to render all possible help to different sectors of people who are neglected, exploited and oppressed by the power structure group of the society. It is a matter of regret that these people previously were in the better economic position, used to cultivate own lands and did not suffer any hardship for maintaining livelihood. But eventually the process of turning them landless and homeless peeped in due to gradual reformation of social structure, devastating flood & cyclone/tidal surges, damages of cultivable lands in the river erosion. These people, due to cheat, marginalization, poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, superstition, for the lack of knowledge of improved seeds & cultivation of high yielding variety, etc. are being deprived of their social and political rights. Sometimes the human rights of these people are even violated to a great extent. The existing dehumanizing process makes all these people solely dependent on critical neighbors who are always in search of their own heinous interests and cause the great suffering for humanity.
Having observed the bitter experiences of torture and pains, some enthusiastic and dedicated people come forward for establishing Barna Samajkallyan Sangstha (BSS) under the active & experienced leadership of Aparna Bala Lucky (Executive Director). Having required sufficient experience in development activities in the national and international organizations she puts her sincere and active leadership in building up of the organization for the betterment & development of the local people.
Changing of people’s life style is being possible through aimed united efforts against vested interested local groups. The downtrodden marginalized organized group members not only defend the vested groups but also transubstantiate each group into a development strategy of poverty alleviation, awareness rising in different fields of activities with an ultimate objective of achieving sustainable socio-economic development.
