The Arts Council England and British Council are inviting applicants for Artists’ International Development Fund program. The AIDF exists to facilitate international collaboration among artists and creative practitioners between the UK and other countries.
Intended as a launch pad for the development of markets and audiences overseas, the fund advocates freelance and self-employed artists to broaden their horizons through work, travel and exploration by collaborating on a professional project, while also giving audiences the chance to enjoy talent from around the world.
Grant Information
Grants for individuals range from £1,000 to £100,000 and can cover activities lasting up to three years.
Aims
The British Council and the Arts Council want the program to produce:
- A cadre of artists and creative practitioners in the UK (and also globally)
- Who have experienced the benefits of international working between the UK and other countries and are advocates for it among their peers
- An increase in the amount of international collaboration among artists between the UK and other countries across the arts and creative industries
- Creative, professional and market development for artists
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should be based in England, in the early stages of career development and able to demonstrate interest generated within a host country
- Individual artists, including creative producers, publishers, curators and editors, can apply.
- Individual applicants who are employed by an arts and culture organization will also be eligible to apply.
