The Lauterpacht Centre for International law is inviting applications from students, PhD graduate or faculty member to attend workshop on Empirical International Law at University of Cambridge.
This one-day workshop will be held at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge on 10 December 2015. The workshop on empirical international law aspires to provide inspiration and practical guidance for the work of early career scholars based at UK institutions.
The project is funded by a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award and organized by Michael Waibel.
Benefits
The project will cover the cost of accommodation at Jesus College, Cambridge and standard class rail or air fare of participants in accordance with University of Cambridge guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the workshop, applicants must be:
- Current academic affiliation is in the UK.
- An advanced doctoral student, recent PhD graduate or junior faculty member in law or a related social science.
- Currently working on an empirical project in international and comparative law, broadly defined. Submission of draft papers with the application is encouraged, but not required.
How to apply
- Applicants must send short letter (2 pages maximum), explaining their interest and potential contribution to the project, and a recent CV via e-mail.
- Up to 15 early career academics will be selected to participate in the workshop.
- Applicants will be notified no later than the end of October of the outcome of the selection process.
