The Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) is currently inviting research proposals from young researchers of north east states of India, under the initiative of Department of Health Research (DHR), for the promotion of research activities in the North East region.
Grant Award
Seed Grant of upto Rs. 20, 00,000 (Rs. 20 lacs) will be provided to the researchers if the project proposal is found suitable for consideration by the committee reviewing these proposals.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be the Young and middle level faculty of the medical colleges, postgraduate institutions, universities, recognized research institute and development laboratories and NGOs of North East region in India .
- Only one project at a time for each investigator under seed grant scheme will be allowed.
- Applicants must develop full-fledged project subsequently and apply to funding agencies.
Note: NGOs must provide documentary evidence of their registration with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.
Selection Criteria
The concept proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Novelty, applicability and Justification for research
- Work carried out by PI/ institution till now/ competence
- Work proposed to be carried out in next 3 years
- Infrastructure, staff available, grants received till now, publication if any in the area of proposed research
- Budget requirement
