The American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR),a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that supports and encourages the study of the cultures and history of the Near East, from the earliest times, is inviting applicants from any country for ASOR Mesopotamian Fellowship Program.
This Fellowship is primarily intended to support field/research on ancient Mesopotamian civilization carried out in the Middle East, but other projects such as travel to work on museum collections or archives related to ancient Mesopotamia will also be considered.
The Mesopotamian Fellowship provides support in the amount of $9,000 for a period of research lasting three months to a year. $1,000 of this Fellowship amount will be allocated for registration and travel support to the 2016 or 2017 ASOR Annual Meeting where the successful applicant will be expected to present a paper on his or her research
Eligibility Criteria
- Pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars from any country are invited to apply.
- Applicants must be affiliated with an institution that is a corporate member of ASOR
