King Baudouin Foundation: Giving Grants for NGOs

King Baudouin Foundation is the Belgium-based foundation established in the year, 1976. It works towards improving the living conditions of the people by creating justice, democracy and diversity. It focused on themes of migration and multicultural society, social justice & poverty, civil society & social commitment, health and philanthropy. It also works towards protecting the rights of minorities and trafficking victims in Balkans and is also focused towards fighting HIV/AIDS in central Africa.

The Foundation organizes workshops and seminars on issues of concern and strives to bring together different groups to address them. It also involves in publication and dissemination of information. It also provides grants by issuing ‘calls for projects’ on its themes of focus. There are actually many calls issued from time to time and NGOs need to keep monitor the website of the Foundation regularly at this link. Applying organizations should ensure that their projects meet the selection criteria. The independent jury makes the project selections based upon the theme and region. NGOs can submit grant applications by email or post. Some of its earlier supported projects include ‘Research into aging,’ ‘Improving quality of life for coffee and/or cocoa producers in developing countries’ and ‘Equitable and sustainable water management in countries in the southern hemisphere’
