Libra Foundation for Promotion of Human Rights

Libra Foundation is a US-based family foundation established with the goal of promoting human rights in the US and around the world. It supports NGOs through grants for bringing about effective social change and set up values of fundamental freedom. The core areas where the Foundation makes the grants are : “Peace and Justice, Environmental Sustainability (with an emphasis on environmental justice) and Women’s Rights (with an emphasis on reproductive rights, economic justice and personal security).” The approaches include Advocacy, Changes in public policy and practice, Coalition-building, Innovative approaches and solutions, Litigation and other legal strategies, Organizing, Utilizing arts and media for social change.

The Foundation does not have an open outlet where NGOs can apply for funds, but sometimes, it does accept a letter of intent to look for possibilities of developing partnerships.
