NGOs can seek grants by sending a letter of inquiry based upon the thematic priority under the programs of the Foundation. However, it is essential for the applying NGO to review the grantmaking guidelines of the Foundation before submitting inquiries for seeking grants. Sometimes, the Foundation discourages NGOs from sending even unsolicited inquiries. Letters of inquiry should give details about project details, including objectives and the relationship to the Foundation’s priorities. The inquiries can be sent online as well as by mail. If the letters of inquiry are accepted, then the potential grantee is requested to send a full proposal. On approval of the full proposal, grants are given to the organizations.
