Latest info: DFID is no longer accepting applications under the Development Innovation Fund.
Small and medium-sized NGOs and CBOs can access funding opportunities from UK Department for Intenational Development’s (DFID) new grant launched this year called the “Development Innovation Fund” (DIF). The Fund has been set up to support only small organizations in developing countries, which means there will be no competition from big NGOs. Besides, it is willing to provide 100% funding support to projects proposed to it. The application process is also quite simple and applications can be submitted anytime as this grant is open for up to 16 months from 2010 start. There are three funding rounds but their timings have not been specified. Nevertheless, proposals can be developed and submitted anytime.
The application form has also been kept simple and no longer than 5 pages. Yet, some organizations in poor and developing countries can find it difficult to complete this form. We are providing here some useful information that can aid them in quickly completing this proposal format. However, as a caution, we would like to inform you as usual that whatever information given about DIF here is unofficial and does not guarantee any possibility of support from DFID. Readers are requested to use their discretion while using the information given below.
