WMI Research Scholarships – Partnership on Women’s Entrepreneurship in Renewable (wPOWER)

The wPOWER hub, Wangari Maathai Institute is inviting research concepts from applicants interested in receiving research support for their project/thesis for a Masters Degree at the University of Nairobi. The overall aim of the institute is to cultivate better environmental stewardship and management of resources and ultimately a reduction in related conflicts.

The Wangari Maathai Institute for peace and Environmental studies (WMI), has been established to honor, recognize, celebrate, advance, and immortalize the ideals and works of one of its alumni, the 2004 Peace Nobel Laureate Prof. Wangari Muta Maathai.

Focus Issues

  1. Gender Dimension
  2. Availability of clean energy technologies
  3. Awareness and marketing strategies
  4. Cultural, attitude and behavioral changes
  5. Biomass fuels, their availability and switching factors

How to Apply?

For the purpose of this request for proposal, applicants should focus their concepts on any of the above issues. Applications must be completed and submitted electronically via e-mail.
