The Conservation International (CI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Manager based in Beijing, China.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Finance, Administrative, Grants Management, IT, and Human Resources functions for CI-Hong Kong, Conservation International’s newest country program, to ensure that our human and financial resources are aligned and maximized for the greatest conservation impact.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will perform the following functions-
- Implements practices and guidelines in the areas of Finances, Human Resources and Administration to ensure CI-Hong Kong’s program effectiveness, efficiency, growth and sustainability.
- Leads CI-Hong Kong’s financial management through the adoption and implementation of sound financial practices, contract and grant management, accounting, budgeting and oversight of audits.
- Leads the Human Resources function ensuring that HR programs are developed and implemented effectively and in compliance with local and global standards, policies and practices.
- Ensures effective and efficient operational capacity for the program.
- Supports fundraising efforts by oversight of development of cost proposals and donor management functions.
- In all functions, the Operations Manager will ensure compliance with local and global standards, policies and practices.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Four-year college degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in related areas (e.g., administration, accounting, finance, human resources, grants management).
- Extremely solid ability to maintain accurate bookkeeping entries.
- Experience in preparation and management of budgets and contracts.
- Sound knowledge of HR function and of Hong Kong labor law and practices.
- Proficient in management of technology, including use of Microsoft office, accounting platforms, and other financial software (Oracle and Clarity preferred).
- Fully fluent in Cantonese and written Chinese. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Highly detail oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task, and work well as a team.
- Experience in management of operations for an international NGO.
- Experience with diverse funding institutions, such as proposal writing or managing grants from corporations, governments, multi-laterals, and/or philanthropic foundations.
- Proficient in spoken Mandarin Chinese.
