The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Director, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The Project Director will manage an expected Millennium Challenge Account -Georgia in-service training and assessment development activity in Georgia.
IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Project Director will perform the following functions-
- Provide vision and strategic direction for the program.
- Serve as primary liaison with senior government officials from the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and National Center for Assessment and Examinations – under the Ministry of Education and Science.
- Manage and mentor project staff.
- Coordinate with home office.
- Oversee project budgeting and ensure budget discipline.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on program activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master‘s degree in a relevant or a related field is required, such as public administration, education, academic administration, and educational policy.
- At least 10 years of experience in managing and implementing sustainable programs in the education sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in such areas as classroom assessment systems, teacher training, and professional development in developing countries.
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop relations with high-level government officials to influence policy.
- A proven track record of design, implementation, and successful delivery in similar projects as verified by references.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including conflict resolution abilities; and a demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable for quality outputs and results.
- Experience working on Millennium Challenge Corporation-funded programs.
- Must be fluent in English; proficiency in Georgian is a plus.
