The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Officer, based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Communications Associate supports the implementation of the communications strategy and plans to ensure effective and efficient communication of EU Floods Recovery Programme/UN Response to Floods Programme with its partners, the media and targeted audiences.
UNDP works in more than 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will perform the following functions-
- Supporting the formulation and implementation of UN Recovery Programme communications and advocacy strategies;
- Administrating UNDP CO and UN websites subpages and social media related to EU Floods Recovery Programme/UN Response to Floods Programme;
- Photographing, video filming and production in order to promote the EU Floods Recovery Programme/UN Response to Floods Programme to partners, the media and targeted audiences;
- Designing presentations, information material, web interface and interactive products;
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Post Graduate qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields;
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in public relations, communications and/or advocacy with a multilateral or international organization, the private sector or governmental bodies;
- Experience in producing communication materials (print and online) for a variety of media;
- Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms;
- Excellent design skills, including typography, layout, colour, user interface and navigation;
- IT Literacy, proficient in the usage of computers and software applications (Knowledge of Photoshop, PaintNet, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Premier Pro, Scribus, Word, PowerPoint and other graphics applications);
- Basic understanding of web development (HTML, PHP, etc) technologies;
- Proven experience in producing interactive web content;
- Previous experience within the UN System is an advantage;
- Fluency in English and in BHS languages.
