The One Drop Foundation is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Program Officer based in Montreal, Canada.
The Chief Program Officer provides the leadership, direction and implementation of a comprehensive intervention strategy to achieve significant impact in all developing countries where it deploys its projects and programs.
One Drop develops integrated, innovative water access and management projects in developing countries.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Chief Program Officer will perform the following functions-
- The CPO provides leadership, direction, and management for the International Programs team of 12 professionals, mostly based in Montreal, by creating an environment of respect, empowerment, accountability, motivation, professional growth, high productivity and rallies them behind the vision, mission and values of One Drop.
- Maintains adequate staffing to meet the needs of the organization.
- The CPO leads the team’s effort to identify, evaluate and manage relationships with WASH partners and implementers; adding value to programs through specific knowledge in areas like behavior change and funding where needed and relevant.
- Working in close collaboration with the Chief Marketing and Chief Revenue Officers, the CPO participates in fund raising efforts by presenting with commitment and passion One Drop’s mission, values and goals to the worldwide donor and partner community, as well as to other audiences such as the WASH sector.
- Nurtures positive and engaging relationships with other actors of the WASH sector, including NGOs and institutions in both developing and developed countries.
- Evaluates the effect of internal and external forces on the organization and its programs in developing countries, and recommends short and long-range plans that support the organization’s values, mission, and objectives.
- The CPO leads the relationship between One Drop and its International Program Advisory Committee to ensure that the organization optimizes the contribution of its expert group.
- Leads the annual operational plan of the International Programs function, including its budget and subsequent periodic forecasts; she/he also monitors and reports on IP team performance against goals and budget.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experience with structuring and closing creative deals in order to build and subsequently manage strategic partnerships with other international development NGOs, with a proven track record of achieving significant impact through projects or programs under his or her responsibility.
- Comprehensive management skills and experience are required, including but not limited to short and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain best operational practices, employing clearly defined objectives and transparent methods with which to measure success; flexibility while capability of putting systems in place to maintain the programs and the IP team’s efficiency.
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) exposure an asset, including the capacity to capture, share and integrate knowledge and progressive ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely and in partnership with staff, supporting and coaching them.
- Open-minded personality to work in harmony and collaboration with the CEO and other functional leaders. Understands the importance of fund raising and marketing activities to the organization.
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical development initiatives.
- Excellent and persuasive communicator.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory, as well as advanced skills in Spanish.
- University degree in a related field; Master’s degree an asset.
