The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Consultant – Gender and Education, based in Amman, Jordan.
The Consultant – Gender and Education will provide technical expertise for the USAID Takamol Jordan Gender Program.
IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Consultant will perform the following functions-
- Design and co-facilitate a workshop for senior government officials, including Ministry of Education, to develop guiding principles for gender mainstreaming in national curriculum.
- Assist in formalizing principles developed in the workshop.
- Lead gender review of selected curriculum.
- Contribute to the distribution of best practices and lessons learned in gender mainstreaming, equality, and female empowerment among program participants and counterparts.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- At least 8 years of experience mainstreaming gender in the education system.
- Experience developing and leading education policy change.
- Extensive experience in formulating gender principles and gender frameworks that integrate gender in all aspects of the education system.
- Excellent skills in curriculum design.
- Demonstrated expertise in facilitating high level gender trainings and workshops that advance the practice and implementation of gender principles.
- Outstanding interpersonal and cross-cultural skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility.
- MENA experience, preferably in Jordan.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and proficiency in Arabic preferred.
