The UN Women is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Coordinator based in Mexico City, Mexico.
UN Women is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women which was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities
The coordinator performs the following functions-
- Be the focal point of the program to all stakeholders from the headquarters and regional office to governmental and / or non-governmental counterparts, ensure good collaboration and keep them informed of developments at all times.
- Prepare the work plan according to Project Results Framework Programme, agreed and approved for implementation.
- Establish and monitor the calendar of activities and associated budget for each program component, including the actions to be undertaken by implementing partners.
- Preparing terms of reference (TOR) for technical development consulting products, established in the Work Plan Project.
- Coordinate the implementation of the technical activities of the program.
- Ensure quality and delivery on time and technical to be prepared by consultants hired for specific products effect.
- Plan and coordinate the meetings and sessions of the Program Advisory Committee.
- Propose, plan and support actions of the program visibility and development of systematization and lessons learned.
- Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports, interim report and final report of the Programme according to donor requirements.
- Monitor the financial performance of the Work Plan Project
- Validate financial reports and other counterparts, according to current regulations.
- Providing inputs to the Administration for the development of the Procurement Plan Program.
- Developing sustainability strategy and identify opportunities to expand the program in the Federal District and other cities, raising resources in coordination with the specialist Policy and Gender Equality Representative.
- Monitor the flag of UN Women projects globally in the areas of safe cities and violence against women, as well as meet the requirements of the Office of Mexico on these issues.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- MA in Social Sciences and / or human rights.
- Specialized studies are valued on gender, gender violence prevention and / or public policies.
- Minimum experience (5) years in project management and serve to prevent violence against women and girls.
- Minimum experience (5) years in initiatives to prevent violence and sexual harassment on public transportation or in planning and violence against women. (Desirable)
- Work experience or interaction with agencies of the UN system.
- Desirable experience in coordinating and designing campaigns to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
- Desirable work experience in the field of Safe Cities.
- Indispensable oral and written English.
- Management of Microsoft Office software packages.
