The World Bank is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Analyst based in Washington, USA.
The World Bank has set two ambitious goals to push extreme poverty to no more 3 percent by 2030, and to promote shared prosperity and greater equity in the developing world.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Coordinate the preparations, planning and development of activities under the Country Support Program such as Expanded Constituency Workshops, Constituency Meetings, National Portfolio Formulation Exercises, National Dialogues, Introduction Seminars, including:
- Preparing and sending invitations.
- Selecting the venue and preparing the set-up for the workshop/event.
- Tracking responses and credentials.
- Assisting with the production of presentation material.
- Helping with logistics and participant outreach.
- Helping to create communication materials.
- Coordinating flight arrangements for participants.
- Ensuring financial distribution of per diem and accurate method of payment, following procurement guidelines, for each vendor.
- Assist with GEF website updates including:
- Posting new material.
- Uploading documents and other material.
- Maintain relevant files and databases for the Civism and assist with migrating and fact checking data and links.
- Assist with Council arrangements, note taking and other ad hoc activities.
- Other tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Minimum Education – MA/MS in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, finance, business administration, social sciences, or other field related to development) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of direct relevant international experience, preferably on developing country issues related to the global environment;
- Seasoned knowledge of and experience in applying Bank operational processes and procedures, as well as a well- developed understanding of the GEF’s mission, operations and partnership.
- Advanced computer skills and full proficiency in the use of relevant software applications.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply these in carrying out basic research and operational tasks;
- Experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders, particularly civil society organizations. Other experience with international organizations, development agencies, scientific and technical bodies is desirable, as well as the ability to develop constructive mutually beneficial working relationships with such groups;
- Demonstrated ability to think and write analytically, strategically, and programmatically;
- Ability to understand policies, procedures and technical issues related with the GEF and/or other similar global environmental/development operations.
