The International Justice Mission (IJM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Specialist based in Mumbai, India.
The Communications Specialist will be responsible to raise the issue of human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation in order to achieve IJM’s mission of protecting the poor from violent injustice, securing rescue and restoration for victims, and ensuring that the public justice system works for the poor.
IJM is the global organization that protects the poor from violence in the developing world.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Communications Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Work with the FOD to develop a communications policy;
- Develop creative tools of communication to create awareness and communicate about sex trafficking to different stakeholders;
- Use social media such as Facebook and twitter to raise the profile of sex trafficking;
- Develop a campaign blog so as to reach a wider audience outside the mainstream media;
- Facilitate and maintain open lines of communication with IJM Casework and Advocacy departments to maximize information sharing between the two projects;
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information; and
- Carry out additional assignments as delegated by the FOD as the role and the Communications strategy evolve.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have-
- Relevant work experience;
- Master’s Degree in management or equivalent experience;
- Master’s Degree in Communications preferable;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software, Windows 2000, Windows XP and server client networks;
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design);
- Strong editorial eye and ability to convey IJM’s message and image through written, visual and oral communication;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Ability to speak and write Hindi preferred;
- Organized, meticulous attention to detail.
