The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Education Specialist – Teacher Training, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Education Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Work with Project Director and the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science to provide professional development to teachers of grades 7-12, public school principals, and professional development facilitators and staff through in-service training.
- Design and develop teacher training materials for all math, science, geography, ICT and English teachers of grades 7-12 in Georgia.
- Incorporate gender principles into classroom assessment system training and develop a gender module designed to reduce teacher gender bias in the classroom.
- Use new technology platforms to deliver teacher trainings that integrate a classroom assessment system.
- Assist in developing a work plan to organize outreach efforts that will provide professional development training to all Georgian teachers of grades 7-12.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, Master’s degree preferred.
- 6 years of experience designing, developing, and leading teacher training activities and professional development.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas such as STEM-based teacher training, faculty training and development, curriculum development, and/or development of education policies.
- In-depth knowledge of the Georgian education sector.
- Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders, such as teachers, administrators, trainers, and host government counterparts.
- Experience working with donor funded programs.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Georgian, ability to communicate professionally and provide written reporting in Georgian and English required.
