The Amnesty International (AI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Volunteer – Eurasia Team based in London, UK.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Volunteer – Eurasia Team will perform the following functions-
- Up-keep of electronic filing systems, including mailing lists and research and contacts logs (database maintenance);
- Daily monitoring of country specific news – including on the Internet, newswire and paper media sources, plus electronic and paper storage of items relevant to the teams work;
- General administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, data entry, faxing, mailings, canning, archiving.
- Replying to general correspondence from the public;
- Making phone calls to contacts in the region;
- Servicing requests from Amnesty International’s members and contacts;
- Thematic tasks relating to the main concerns/priorities of the team; including some research tasks, drafting documents, preparing reports.
- Other tasks as designated by the team.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Good knowledge of the sub-region, including sensitivity to the people and culture, and an awareness of the social, political, human rights development and security considerations
- Good understanding of the nature of human rights concerns in the sub-region
- Ability to draft correspondence and other materials clearly, and with sensitivity to different audiences
- Ability to communicate in English (oral and in writing)
- Ability to communicate in Russian, Azerbaijani or other regional language (oral and in writing);
- Experience and understanding of team-working, willing to cover for others when required
- Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in a sensitive manner
- Ability to use sound judgment, initiative, tact and diplomacy when required
- Administrative experience, including manual and electronic filing;
- Commitment to working in a multi-cultural and diverse environment
- Understanding of equal opportunity principles and commitment to apply them in daily work
- Commitment to work within AI’s mandate
- Appreciation of the importance of confidentiality and security in AI’s work
