The project will train teachers and police and hold community activities to raise awareness about violence against women and children in order to promote the rights of children, particularly girls, to enjoy an education free from violence.

The project will to build the capacity of the poor living in 16 local municipalities to participate in decision making about the uses of the Riachuelo and Matanza–Riachuelo rivers and so protect the environmental rights of local citizens.

Rights of worker and consumer safety and public accountability in Bangladesh
The project will safeguard the rights of workers and consumers by assessing the capacity of Bangladeshi government bodies involved in worker and consumer safety and by consulting with government and civil society to bring about legislative and policy change.

Belize
United Belize Advocacy Movement
Legal Empowerment: Improving Advocacy Power of Sexual Minorities to lead a Watchdog Unit for Justice
This project will build the capacity of people living with HIV and sexual minorities to become human rights defenders and provide legal advice to these groups who are suffering rights abuses in Belize. The project focuses on data collection, advocacy and strengthening the capacity of these groups to participate in legal reform mechanisms.
$66,000 over one year

Burkina Faso
Handicap Solidaire Burkina
Promoting the rights of disabled people in Burkina Faso
The project will raise awareness of the UN Convention on the Rights People with Disabilities, recently ratified by Burkina Faso. This will be done through training of people with disability, civil society organisations and local government in 45 provinces.
