Philips seeking innovative ideas for its Livable Cities Award

The multinational electronics corporation, Philips has launched the Philips Livable cities Award for “celebrating simple solutions which improve your health and well-being.”

The Award is calling on individuals, community or NGOs and businesses to submit ideas for ‘simple solutions’ that will improve people’s health and well-being in a city.

There are three Award grants carrying a total value of €125,000. There are three categories under which these total grants will be distributed amongst the top winners.

Well-being Outdoors

Initiatives that will help citizens feel safe in public spaces, as well as initiatives that help create identity and a sense of belonging.

Independent Living

Initiatives that will help the growing number of elderly people living alone to feel secure and comfortable in a city and/or enable longer living at home with appropriate access to healthcare.

Healthy Lifestyle at Work and Home

Initiatives that will support a healthy body and mind, whether through a person’s surroundings or via other essentials such as exercise, sleep and diet.
