Only for candidates from Ethiopia, Laos, Kenya, Tanzania and Vietnam.
As part of the Swedish International Development Agency’s International Training Programmes, the Human Rights towards Gender Equality training programme will be held in two parts: at Stockholm/Uppsala, Sweden and at another location (to be decided) from 7 March to 1 April 2011 and in October 2011 respectively.
This training programme is organised as a joint-venture of SIPU International and Uppsala University with the funding support of SIDA.
The Programme seeks to strengthen the participant organisations capacity in the field of human rights and gender eqality and get increased knowledge on how to use tools for gender mainstreaming. Strategy for change will strengthen the commitment of organizations and institutions to invest in and institutionalize gender-sensitive change. The programme contains a 4-week training course in Sweden and a follow-up seminar in Asia, Latin America or Africa. The training course includes lectures, group and individual exercises as well as study tours. An individual project work is an important part of the programme.
Candidates from Ethiopia, Laos, Kenya, Tanzania and Vietnam can apply to participate in the programme.
The SIDA will cover all training cost such as lectures, literature, documentation, study tours and certain social activities as well as accommodation costs including board and lodging. International travel cost to and from Sweden, and in connection to the fourth and fifth phase of the Programme, will also be covered by SIDA. The participant carries costs incurred in travelling to the nearest international airport in the home country, passport and visa costs and personal expenses.
The deadline to apply is 15 November October 2010. For more information, visit this link.

kindly extend the deadline,i have seen the advert now.i’m interested in this training and tour for international country.
tanzania has more women than men but in univesrsities and colleges womena are just in mosaics!
We need to change this trend from primary education whereby enrollment for girls are inhibited by many factors which are currently not controlled.
Why not change this state of affairs which has impacted on women’s participation in other developmental endeavours as they appear not qualified?
Those in Colleges, are they treated equitably by the predominantly male professors who operate in patrichal-designed systems? We really need a change.
Kindly extend the deadline. have just seen the advert now!!! please. i know this training will boost me and the youth in rural kenya that i work with. please am in a very remote area that we cant assess internet easly. please! please!

Dear Partner,
great for this consideration,
Kenya is one of the countries in the region with high number of human rights violations.
It is a great pleasure and good consideration to have considered applicants from this country,
I would also request you to consider other countries for this programme in your next planning.
I will apply and hope for your kind consideration,
Thanks and God bless you all,
Yours Sincerely,
Stephen Cheboi
