NGOs in India can apply for the India NGO awards, initiated by the Resource Alliance in partnership with other organizations. The award felicitates NGOs that demonstrate best practices in resource mobilization, accountability and transparency. The entry is opened to all types of NGOs under three different small, medium and large categories with annual budgets ranging from less than Rs. 50 lakhs to more than Rs. 5 crores. Selected NGOs in each category have a chance to win a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 400,000, in addition to other benefits. The deadline for submitting applications is 4 October 2008.
