World Habitat Awards are given to those projects that provide innovative, practical and sustainable solutions on housing issues. One award each is given to a project in the North and in the South. The award will be given to the winners at the United Nations on the World Habitat Day. In addition to the award, a cash award of £10,000 would be given. To enter this competition, the projects have to be submitted based upon the guidelines given. Applications can be made online. The deadline for submitting the applications is 1 June 2009.
