Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation: Opportunity for young people

The Pearson Foundation in partnership with TakingITGlobal has launched Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation to provide financial grants and mentoring to young people for worldwide social service projects.

This international fellowship program will support most promising social service projects created by TakingITGlobal’s growing network of youth leaders. Recognition and support will be rendered to youth-developed projects created as a component of TakingITGlobal’s innovative Sprout e-Course curriculum, which is designed to provide training in essential skills for young leaders around the world.

“Both the Fellowship and the e-Course are aligned with the main objectives of the World Youth Congress – finding ways to harness the incredible talent, energy, and ingenuity of young people in their shared effort to achieve the U.N.’s Millennium Development Goals of eradicating hunger, achieving universal education and gender equality, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, promoting environmental sustainability, and developing global partnerships.

The Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation will be awarded to young people with the most promising and well-prepared plans for community projects developed during the Sprout e-Course. Two International Fellows will each receive $5,000 to help launch their projects. Ten additional Regional Fellows will each receive a $1,000 award. All Pearson Fellows will receive one-on-one mentoring from experienced social innovators who will consult with them as they implement their project plans. Integral to the program is a special online community where the Fellows can network with their peers and have access to special online materials and training designed to help them take their projects from the planning stage to reality.”

Please have initiative to serve the cause through your network

Develop the Poster and distribute among the partner

    Our Heartiest Felicitation to the

Honorable President of Maldives Mr. Nashid didn’t distribute printed version of his speech in SAARC summit 2010 considering climate change.

We hope the same persistence and passion to the sasrai-Movement policy from each SAARC/Global head of state like Mr. Nashid of Maldives. We are thankful to honorable Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina that she is urging to all in different dialogue, discussion and delivery uphold sasrai-Movement policy save water, electricity.

Let’s have zeal to self tune in sasrai-Movement policy and be committed to save resource and reduce solid waste in our daily living – no matter how small it is. Plz relentless to voice from all corner across the globe

sasrai-Movement needs millions of volunteer across the globe. Help the movement that helps the Earth, Environment and Humanity

Let’s we try to save one Taka/dollar/pound/yen …………FROM daily LUXURY combat the CLIMATE CHANGE and the sequences

“Nearly a billion human beings living in developing countries do not have access to a minimal quantity of safe drinking water, and some 2.6 billion people – or half the population in developing countries – do not have access to basic sanitation facilities.”

School boy Mr. Falah Galeeb Ithu opined ……………………….

Many bought flags and other materials to cheer up their favorite world cup team even knowing that this may not cheer their favorite team. Why not they plant a tree with 1/4 of the flag’s cost and same effort while it will not only increase the beauty, but will also serve self, family, fan, community, nation largely humanity, their favorite team too……

Let’s we learn from our children what should be the way of our living, thinking, fashion. As human being we cannot do anything as desire. There should be rational, restrain, prudence-must be environment friendly.

Certainly institute/establish fair, integrity is tougher everywhere. The great Socrates, urged ‘What a lot of things there are a man can do without’ – if it would be followed environment campaign may not be needed today. So we must be reorganized in living, mindset, have patience and passion for just-environment. We shall overcome. Lot of bitter experience, happening there hopefully none would compel to accept Socrates’s fate. Hope we would start again with full placidity and valor …..
“YOUTH ARE NOT USELESS BUT USED LESS
YOUTH ARE NOT CARELESS BUT CARED LESS”

Me and you are here; just not to talk of the dream of having a developed nation, globe but, to fight, to strive and to realize the dream of every citizen of this country; of hoping to see our nation; stand with majesty and pride, with its head held high in the vision of other nations.

“WITHOUT THE SENSE OF URGENCY, DESIRE LOSSES ITS VALUE” Let’s kindle the fire within us and urge ourselves to live in a peaceful globe. So let’s together march forward to see our victory in the near future.

“COMING TOGETHER IS BEGINNING, STAYING TOGETHER IS PROGRESS, AND WORKING TOGETHER IS SUCCESS”

    Dear Madam/Sir
    Greetings
Please suggest us how we could get fund to trained/develop our volunteer in different educational institution.

    Hope the best.

    Dear Madam/Sir

Greetings from sasrai-Movement, that promotes prudent and thrifty use and conservation of resources. The movement aimed at to animate each individual, family, community, institution, organization to combat Climate Change, Global warming, food, fuel, water security, poverty, disaster, waste, ecosystem and biodiversity etc.

    Abstract

Climate change, climate variability and extremes are affecting our food production and will most challenge our food security. Farmers and extension services have been baffled on ways to address this uncertainty, manage crop production and ensure good harvest. Climate change is a global problem, and yet each one of us has the power to make a difference. Even small changes in our daily behavior can help prevent greenhouse gas emissions without affecting our quality of life. In fact, they can help to save our money.

To meet the challenges sasrai-Movement could be one of the most effective vehicle we urge to all uphold it. It stands for plain, simple and easier life for all, as less as possible, consumption of resources in our daily living. It urges initiating it in own life, at home, at own place. It stands for democracy, diversity, decentralization, tolerance, transparency, self-reliance and peace. Its first consideration is tomorrow, the future generation, who have not spoiled a bit of this earth’s resources, the children, who have not committed any sinful act. It believes in community potentials to solve their problem, adaptation by the available resources they own right now.

It stands for giving up the luxuries that destroy the earth’s resources. It stands for reuse, recycling as maximum as possible. The students, the youth, the hope of the future, can start by devising their way of serving the humanity, the planet. We encourage devising own instead of suggesting, directing like big brother. Because environment doesn’t accept, tolerate dictation from powerful or powerless.

We are open in share of our vision, mission, learning and experience. We try to start the initiative in our personal life, at homes. The students and teachers here are encouraged to start practice in their personal life, class rooms, in schools and homes. Then they could appeal to friends, neighbors, relatives and to the others.

We try to use empty pots, small pieces of land by planting saplings. Our preferences are medicinal plants, vegetables. We try to avoid one-time-use items. We try to switch off our electric bulbs and fans for at least one minute a day. We encourage avoiding using air conditioners.

We sit with the students and teachers and they collectively decide their steps. We start in a smaller way. We try to avoid to be dominating. We think if any organizational structure is formed then all have to take the post of “leader” by rotation. We believe in local resources and fund to launch any initiative. I hope, we can talk on more functional issues in future.

Till today we have taken decisions collectively in a democratic and participatory way. We generate funds by selling used/old household items, by putting our labor. We encourage in cutting luxury, unnecessary cell phone call, cool drinks, junk food etc. We try to walk as maximum as possible but obviously not at the expense of health and time.

    Kindest regards.
