Irwin Andrew Porter Foundation is working to fund innovative projects that foster connections between individuals, communities, the environment and the world at large. The foundation funds in a broad range of focus areas and is most interested in projects that require and/or inspire those directly benefiting from the project to give back to their communities both during the project and into the future.
Grants Range from $500 to $30,000 annually. The Irwin Andrew Porter Foundation will accept proposals for single year, multi-year and matching grants.
Geographical Focus
Foundation’s geographic areas of funding are:
- Regional: When looking at projects within the United States, IAP limits its consideration to projects within Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
- International: IAP’s international funding is restricted to projects in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Africa.
Application Process
Written Applications must include the following:
- Your non-profit US federal tax id number or the tax id number of your fiscal agent along with their complete contact information
- Your organization description
- A detailed project budget
- An expanded narrative containing the following:
- A more detailed description of the specific project for which you are requesting funds
- A description of the mission and operations of your organization as a whole
- The amount of funds requested
- Who the project benefits,
- A detailed project budget
- A copy of your organization’s most recent audited statement (if available)
- Your organization’s current year’s budget
- A year-to-date balance sheet and statement of revenue and expense.
- A copy of your organization’s
- If you are not a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 tax exempt status you must provide a letter from your fiscal agent, dated within the last six months, stating their willingness to act as your fiscal agent and including their contact information
