World Travel & Tourism Council is inviting applications from the public or private sectors of the travel and tourism industry, worldwide for the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2016. The WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Awards are one of the world’s highest accolades in the Travel & Tourism industry, aimed at recognizing best practice in sustainable tourism.
The awards aims at recognising best practice in sustainable tourism within the industry globally, based upon the principles of environmentally friendly operations; support for the protection of cultural and natural heritage; and direct benefits to the social and economic well-being of local people in travel destinations around the world.
Awards Categories
Candidates can apply in one of five categories:
- Community Award
- Destination Award
- Environment Award
- Innovation Award
- People Award.
What does it mean to be a winner?
- Entering the Awards could earn your business the real credit it deserves. Becoming a finalist means:
- Corporate endorsement by a panel of internationally acclaimed experts in sustainable tourism.
- An invitation to the grand awards ceremony at the 16th WTTC Global Summit in Dallas, Texas, US 6-7 April 2016.
- Complimentary flights and accommodation to the ceremony in Dallas.
- Outstanding international Media exposure the opportunity to network with the leaders of the travel & tourism industry.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be from all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, worldwide.
- Eligible applicants include tour operators, individual hotels, hotel chains, national parks, heritage sites and all activities or projects associated with tourism.
- Applicants must submit their application only in English.
