The Radio Nederland Training Centre (RNTC) is organizing the ‘International Course on Training the Trainers from 9 September 2013 to 18 October 2013 for a period of 40 days in the Netherlands.
The course strengthens the capacity of broadcast and new media trainers and educators to (re)design and deliver their training activities to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing media industry.
The course is suitable for Mid-career trainers, training organisers and educators working for broadcasting organisations, professional media training providers (departments, centres, institutes), schools of journalism and broadcasting, and media/communication departments at universities.
The course will reinforce the knowledge, skills and attitudes trainers, training organisers and/or educators need to organise, design and develop more effective and efficient training solutions for their organisation. Participants will become familiar with how to formulate the contribution training can make to organisational development as well as to improve staff performance. Key concepts in training and education, such as learning objectives, (adult) learning styles, teaching methods, lifelong learning and the learning organisation will be analysed and explored. Participants will be taught various techniques for targeting and assessing specific learners and learning needs, and for formulating appropriate learning objectives. For their final assignments participants will design and practice delivering new and achievable training activities as well as focus on how to ‘sell’ these and apply them as part of a back home action plan.
