United States Agency for International Development in Rwanda (USAID/Rwanda) is accepting applications for Media and Elections program in Rwanda. The purpose of this program is to to provide higher quality, transparent and balanced reporting in the period around the September 2013 Parliamentary Elections and leading up to the much anticipated 2017 Presidential Elections.
The project will target local, independent radio stations as well as print and online journalists drawn from each of Rwandan’s geopolitical zones. USAID intends to provide approximately $500,000 in total USAID funding for the life of the activity.

- Capacity Building Workshops for Journalists, Editors and Media Managers
- Legal Protections for Journalists, Media Outlets and Citizen Reporters
- Mentoring and Training to Radio Stations
- Supporting Relevant CSOs
- Innovative Information Technology Tools
- Documenting Lessons Learned
Eligibility & Criteria-
This RFA is open to any non-governmental organization. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including private voluntary organizations (PVOs), faith-based and community organizations and for-profit companies are eligible to apply under this RFA. Public International Organizations are also eligible to apply under the RFA. It is USAID policy not to award profit under assistance instruments.
