Donor foundations in Europe have been continuously providing financial support to NGOs around the world. Despite tough economic challenges, the foundations have recorded a rise in providing grants to address global problems during recent years. There are foundations such as the UK’s Wellcome Trust which has been issuing grants of nearly one billion Euros. Other foundations such as the Atlantic Philanthropies and Fundacion La Caixa have given grants of over 500 million Euros. Besides, there are several other donor foundations in Germany and UK which have increased their funding support to organizations around the world to address various causes.
So which are these foundations? How to identify them? Our webinar on ‘Fundraising from European Foundations‘ to be held on October 2, 2012 from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM GMT will provide you with the information and guidance on the European Foundation funding landscape (including an overview of foundations in countries with the largest assets and expenditures, top 10 European foundations by spending); how to identify European Foundation funders (including: prospect research strategies, print directories, online resources, foundation centers and directories by country); and how to develop strategy for successful proposals (including: fundraising planning for European foundations, communications, international representation)

This is a very brilliant idea that can help sustain many community based organisation,unfortunately,it will still elude organisations in the developing nations.Many of the community based organisation that I know and work with do not have access to the internet,therefore it will be difficult attending the seminar.
I would suggest that this training is organised with selected country organisations face to face and it could be cascaded to other CBO and NGO
