The Sheila Mckechnie Foundation has announced the call for applications for its International Award for Campaigners. Individuals who have been campaigning for a cause or an issue in a committed manner in their own countries or regions can take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the award. The award is specifically meant for individuals who have been working in developing countries. The winners of the award get an opportunity to visit UK to receive the award in a ceremony. Along with the award, the Foundation will also sponsor the stay of the winners in UK for a certain period of time during which guidance will be given by experts on organizing the campaings. After the UK stay, when the winners are back in their country, the Foundation would provide further support for another 4-5 months in enhancing their campaigns. There are application forms that can be downloaded from the Foundation’s website. These can be filled and submitted by email or post. The deadline to submit applications is 30 June 2009.
