The vocational training play a key role in empowering the rural women. Lots of efforts have been made by various governmental and non-governmental organizations to encourage vocational training among youth and women. Project Description
As it has been seen in the recent past that lot of efforts have been made by various governmental and non-governmental organizations to encourage vocational training among youth and women. In the last few years thousands of women have been empowered to take up jobs and earn their livelihood through various vocation trainings in various fields. But there is still a long way to go. Keeping the growing need for providing skill based training keeping self-reliant in mind; The organization has planned to set up Vocational Skill Development Centre exclusively for women. The training centre would provide vocational training and courses like Cutting & Tailoring, Beauty Culture, Computer Education to young women of vicinity at almost no cost.
Project Goal

Project Objectives
- To train women of local community with special focus on women between 15-40 years of age on vocational trade in order to enable them to take any suitable job or start any self-employment programme.
- Assist trained beneficiaries to get placed in the job market by coordinating their placements.

Project Methodology
- Mobilization: Reach out to the potential beneficiaries through mobilization and outreach initiatives encouraging women and girls enhance their skills by enrolling for training course
- Training preferences: Three to six months training for the beneficiaries as per their interest and feasibility
- Exposure Trips: Skill enhancing exposure trips for the beneficiaries to improve their selling & negotiation skills
- Recognition: Post successful completion of the course, certificates disbursed to the beneficiaries

A series of meetings with direct and indirect beneficiaries were conducted at community level. At the very beginning of the project – preparation stage- the organization’s staff and volunteer to carry out field visits and meet with direct and indirect beneficiaries in the field. The Project coordinator, together with other and team members conducted meetings with local councils, community-based organizations, community leaders, and women activists. The field meetings with beneficiaries were designed so as to survey and target each village in the cluster in order to present the idea of the project and involve local communities in the process of selecting participants according to the criteria identified in the project. During such meetings, beneficiaries were offered complete information about the project’s/trainings goals and objective. Moreover, such meetings strengthened the cooperation with governmental bodies / Local Authorities.
- Establishment of a team of trainers
- The implementing organization contracted 3 trainers each trainer for Cutting & Tailoring, Beauty Culture, Computer Education.
- Preparation of training curricula & manuals
- The training module will be developed for the each proposed training course with the help of trainers, project coordinators and experts. The training material will be designed keeping in mind the prevailing market demand and conditions.
- Selection of Beneficiaries /Trainee
- On the basis of various surveys and interactions with the community and interested applicants, the beneficiaries for each training will be selected on the basis of their interest and available resources and infrastructure for training.
Project Outcomes
- All trainees would learn the trade to the level that they can look for a career in respective vocation.
- Placement of beneficiaries would create income generation opportunities for them, thus, provide them with financial independence.
Target Segment
- Centre would like to reach all the local people from the community with a special focus on girls and women. The primary segment would be age group of 18 to 40.
The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Plan
The organization has got well equipped trained and monitoring staff/team who do their work in accordance with the laid down project plans. Organization senior staff and members follow the procedures laid down during the work plan strategy in the proposal.
The organization shall however from time to time expect donors to come and analyze, evaluate the utilization of the funds for a particular activity. Accounting records and other required records like receipts, invoices, requisitions, books and other records for income and expenditure analysis shall be checked at the discretion of the Directors.
The organization has got qualified and technical staff can control finances. Audit exercises shall also be carried out from time to time to verify the true and fair view of the books of accounts and reports shall be submitted to the board of the organization for analysis.
The Project Sustainability Plan
The organization has got a sustainability plan, to enable the project carried out its activities even without support from donors who shall help us to support the project.
The organization will charge a small amount from participants to cover resources cost from the participants who can pay a minimum fee for the training. Also organization can use its resources and start self-financed training batches for other interested people so that after completion of this project to sustain training center/project in the long term.
The Project Impact on Environment
The training center and programs have got no bad impact on environment. The project has no threat to people of the surrounding and it has no harm to anybody or creature in the community.
The Project Financial Management Plan
The organization has policies and procedures it uses in financial management. (The financial policy and the administrative policy.)
In our constitution, it is clearly laid down that the treasurer shall be in charge of all organization finances or financial interests and that the income and expenditure summaries shall be prepared and submitted.
Who so ever shall receive funds for any project of organization shall hand them over to the treasurer, who shall bank them before the Board plans how to spend it.
All Organization financial controls are found in the Finance Policy and the Administration Policy.
Project Cost
The organization would provide furniture & fixtures, salary of the trainer, machine maintenance cost, courseware and all other essential facilities required to run the centre. Cost would be borne from the corpus of the society or from the donations made by various individuals and organizations.
