Guidelines for describing your project’s methods:
- Establish a strong connection between your methods and the objectives and needs statement of the proposed program.
- Link these methods to the specific resources you are requesting in the budget section of the proposal.
- Provide a clear rationale for the selection of these methods, supported by research, expert insights, and your own experience.
- Enumerate the facilities and capital equipment that will be utilized throughout the project.
- Create a well-structured plan for activities that align with the program’s goals, incorporating a timeline for reference.
- Describe the program’s target demographic and the selection process for participants in a comprehensive manner.
- Compose this section as if the reader has no prior knowledge of your nonprofit or the proposed program, ensuring clarity without oversimplification.
After writing the methods section, review it and ask yourself these questions:
- Do the methods logically flow from the need statement and your goals and objectives?
- Have you accurately presented the program activities you will develop?
- Did you explain why you chose these particular methods or activities?
- Is there a timeline that makes sense?
- Have you made it clear who will perform particular activities?
- Given the resources you expect to have, are these activities feasible?
