This proposal seeks funding for the “Shelter and Support” program, which aims to prevent homelessness through a comprehensive, holistic approach. The program will offer emergency shelter, supportive services, and long-term housing solutions to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. By addressing both immediate needs and underlying causes, we aim to significantly reduce homelessness in our community. Our goal is to support 500 individuals and families over the next two years.
Homelessness is a complex issue with multiple contributing factors, including economic instability, lack of affordable housing, mental health issues, and substance abuse. Without a holistic approach, efforts to prevent homelessness may only address symptoms rather than root causes. Effective prevention requires not only providing immediate shelter but also offering supportive services and long-term housing solutions.
