The Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF) is accepting proposals from NGOs and other agencies for implementing projects that advance social and economic development through the application of information and communication tools and technologies or ICT. The Fund is a result of a partnership with Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Internet Society and the Asia Pacific Network organized with the support of the DotAsia Organization.
Only NGOs from the Asia Pacific region can apply. In this context, the Asia Pacific region also includes countries from the South Asian region as previous grantees also included NGOs from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka in addition to the East Asian countries. The emphasis of the Fund is on NGOs and projects operating in developing countries.
Grants of up to US $30,000 will be awarded for projects that demonstrate the availability of affordable ICT technologies, apply innovative ideas in implementing related activities and enhance sustainability.
Projects will start operating from 2010 onwards and the support will be for a period of one year only. The grant amount is limited to US $30,000. There is an online application form that needs to be filled up and submitted by email to the ISIF Secretariat. The last date to submit the proposals is 31 July 2009.
