The 12th International Public Communication of Science and Technology Conference 2012 titled “Quality, Honesty and Beauty in science and technology communication” will be organized from 18-20 April 2012 in Florence, Italy. The conference is intended to advance international contacts among young scientific journalists from South-Eastern European countries. It encourages participation of young journalists to the PCST 2012. The conference also aims to encourage the networking of science communicators within South-East Europe (SEE) and share best practices.

UNESCO will support 8 young science journalists and science communicators (PhDs, post-docs) below the age of 35, with citizenship and residence corresponding to one of the eligible countries listed below. UNESCO travel grants will cover conference registration fees and some funds to be used for travel and accommodation.

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, Kosovo/UN Resolution 1244, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey.
