The Delegation of the European Commission in Sierra Leone has issued a restricted call seeking proposals from eligible non-state actor organisations and local authorities under the “Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development’” thematic programme aimed at contributing to the improvement of the Health status of the population in that country.
Objectives of the Programme
Promotion of the principles of inclusivity and independence in partner countries so as to facilitate non-state actor and local authority participation in poverty reduction and sustainable development strategies
Global objective of the Call for Proposals
Improvement of the Health status of the population in Sierra Leone
Specific objectives of the Call for Proposals
– to consolidate and strengthen the capacities and roles of NSA/LA – in particular locally based structures – to take part in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals for Health
– to strengthen countrywide health systems in Sierra Leone
– to pay particular attention for the reduction of infant Mortality and Morbidity
– to empower citizens to access health services by informing them of their rights
Size of grants
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
Non-State Actors
minimum amount: EUR 300,000.00; maximum amount: EUR 1,000,000.00
Local Authorities
minimum amount: EUR 250,000.00; maximum amount: EUR 500,000.00
Note. This is a restricted Call for Proposals. In the first instance, only Concept Notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, applicants whose Concept Notes have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a Full Application Form.
Last date for submitting the concept notes is August 31, 2011.
