The South-East Finland-Russia ENPI CBC Program has made a third call for proposals, for cross-border solutions in three major areas, which are economic development, border-crossing and the environment, and social development and civil society. A total fund of €5.8 million is available for these proposals.
The proposals will only be considered if the projects proposed have at least one partner from the eligible regions of Finland and the Russian Federation. The eligible regions being South Karelia, South Savo, Kymenlaakso, St.Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and the adjacent regions of Uusimaa, North Savo, Päijät-Häme and the Republic of Karelia.
The last date for the submission of applications is 16 December 2011. Joint Monitoring Committee of the Programme will take the decisions on approval/rejection of the proposals, in March 2012.
On 27 September 2011, a launching seminar on this call for proposals will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, and another such seminar will be held on 29 September 2011, in Kotka, Finland.
The South-East Finland – Russia ENPI CBC Programme (2007-2013) is an extension of the previous South-East Finland – Russia INTERREG III A /Neighbourhood Programme. The program aims at making the project area an integrated economic zone, which would provide an example for regional co-operation between the European Union and Russia. The total funds available for the project amount to €72.3 million; they will be split equally between EU funding and Finnish and Russian co-funding.
