Applications are invited for awards to be distributed by Charles Wallace India Trust. The categories for the awards are:
Long Term Awards in the arts and heritage conservation Visiting Fellowships, for duration of 2-3 months.
Grants towards the cost of Short Research or Professional visits: These cover partial costs.
Grants to attend Scottish Universities International Summer Schools These cover partial costs
Grants towards the cost of the penultimate or final year of Doctoral Study at a UK university.
The Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) is a scholarship fund given in the fields of arts, heritage conservation and humanities. Indians, who are either beginning their career, or are in its middle stage can go to UK and pursue their artistic, professional or academic ambitions, with the help of this grant fund. Since its inception, 30 years ago, the trust has given 2500 grants.
CWIT was an English charity, established in 1981, after an agreement between the Indian and British governments. Four trustees, including one nominated by the British Council, manage the trust. The trustees are Ingval Maxwell, Dr Yasmin Khan, Caroline Douglas and Colin Perchard (British Council nominee). The Secretary is Richard Alford. British Council India not only provides administrative support, but also guidance on applying for a visa.
Deadlines are different for different awards.
