AfriGrowth Foundation (AGF) is organizing a session of its Youth Academy in October- November in association with TY Danjuma Foundation. The Youth Program of AGF is basically a capacity development program for the young people. It has been designed to enhance the skills in young people that are needed to get success in business or excel in other fields.
Call for Applications
AGF is currently inviting applications from young Nigerians for October-November session of the Youth Academy. AGF seeks to recruit fresh graduates who have recently concluded or yet to enrol for the National Youth Service for a two-month period of intensive training and internship on enterprise development.
The Youth program: Develop for Development Initiative (DDI) is a capacity building program which offers intensive training in leadership and employability skills, enterprise development and program management. Its main focus is the reduction of unemployment rate, especially among youths by enhancing their capacity for self-reliance.
Program Schedule
- Batch 1 (October-November 2011)
- Course: Enterprise Development
- Purpose: To develop specific skills for successful entrepreneurship
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Nationality of the candidates must be Nigerian, they must have recently graduated from an institution of higher learning, must not be more than 35 years old and would have concluded or yet to be enrolled for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). They must have a place to stay in Abuja for the period of the program and willing to:
- Commit to a two-month training program
- Commit to the Program’s guidelines
- Comply with the program evaluation process
Additionally, the prospective participants are expected to have:
- Established interest and dedication to self development
- Basic understanding of issues of importance to self and future projections
- Commitment to build on things learnt and interest to mentor other young people.
