Applications are currently being invited for the Pipeline Fellowships. These fellowships have been started to train women philanthropists to help them in becoming angel investors through education, mentoring, and practice. The aim of these fellowships is to diversify the investor pool and connect women social entrepreneurs with investors. Candidates selected for these fellowships commit to invest in a woman-led for-profit social venture in exchange for equity and a board seat at the end of the training.
About the Program
The Pipeline Fellowship trains women philanthropists to become angel investors through:
– Education: Workshop topics include:
-> due diligence
-> term sheets
-> valuation
-> portfolio strategies
-> board governance
-> measuring impact
– Mentoring: Each participant is matched with an experienced angel investor to serve as a role model.
– Practice: Each participant commits to invest in a woman-led for-profit social venture at the end of the training.
For most of fellows, this is their first angel investment. They are attracted by the program’s three components (education, mentoring, practice) and benefit from the diversity of each cohort. Pipeline Fellows are intergenerational (ranging from late twenties to 60+) and come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Pipeline Fellows have included a small business owner, a dentist with her own private practice, a consultant, a stay-at-home mom, an accountant, a tech startup employee, and an art dealer.
