The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is a sovereign Institute academic institution. RWI is named after Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat. Legally RWI is a charitable trust under Swedish private law and is looked after by board of trustees. Established in 1984 at the Faculty of Law at Lund University, Sweden, the Institute is currently involved in organizing three Master Programmes and an interdisciplinary human rights programme at the undergraduate level. RWI works towards promoting human rights through research, training and education. RWI provides much number of grants and scholarships too.
Grant for Human Right Research Project 2012 RWI announces the grants for human rights 2012 for building Human Rights Knowledge and Resources in the Middle East and North Africa. The objective of this project is to increase the number of relevant human rights research in Arabic accessible in the MENA region, and the grant/scholarship forms part of the activities leading to this result.
The research project shall start no later than 1 April 2012 and shall be finalized no later than 15 July 2012. Each scholarship grant amounts to a maximum of USD 7,000 or EUR 5,000. The grant for cross- countries research projects can amount to a maximum of USD 10,000 (or EUR 7,600)
How to apply-
Applications for the scholarship should include a brief description of the project, its aim and its relevance. The application should also include a brief introduction of the research team and the research team leader, with CV’s attached, as well as a timeframe listing planned activities. In relation to this timeframe there should also be a budget for the project, specifying the estimated total cost as well as the amount scheduled to be spent on the different activities. Applications should also include information on where the project will mainly be carried out (which institution, if any, hosts the project), and information about the planned outcome (seminars, reports etc.). Furthermore, applications shall include, when applicable, information about other sources of funding available for the project.
