Inter Press Service (IPS) has come up with a call for proposals for the print/online journalist from East, South East and South Asia. The theme of this call for proposals is climate change. Journalists have to send their stories\on the given theme. Their stories should be creative. They can propose and pursue under -reported, creative stories around climate change. The journalist can write their features in English and or/local languages.
The journalists whose story proposals are accepted will:
- Attend a two-day regional workshop on reporting on climate change in April 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand
- Get support in resources for coverage to match the accepted story ideas
- Produce in-depth feature/sets of stories of from 1,000 to 2,000 words
- Get their stories included in a publication to be produced by the series, and distributed regionally and internationally by the IPS news network.
Priority will be given to concrete story ideas that link policy, environment, and science to everyday issues, and include a variety of voices and sectors. Selection will be made by 03 April 2012.
