Call for Papers are invited at conference on the Constructed Environment which will be organized from Vancouver, Canada from 25 to 26 October 2012.
Call for Papers for the Third International Conference on the Constructed Environment and the Call for Submissions to the peer-reviewed International Journal of the Constructed Environment are invited by the International Advisory Board.
This interdisciplinary conference is for scholars, teachers, and practitioners from any professional discipline who share an interest in the forms and functions of the constructed environment. The major objective of the conference is to discuss the past character and future shape of the built environment from a variety of disciplines and perspectives.
Proposals are invited that contribute to the conference discourse from any of the following thematic areas:
- Designing and Constructing, including all aspects of design and modeling technologies, materials and environmental sciences, planning and project management processes, construction innovations, and sustainable building practices;
- Configuring and Understanding Spaces across home, business, civic and natural habitats and including research and planning, design and creation, form and function of spaces;
- Movement and Infrastructure related to construction processes and flows, reconfiguring energy, transportation, water, and waste for current and future needs, as well as planning for natural and catastrophic events;
- Organizing and Governing and the roles of government, regulatory bodies, and citizens in the planning, decision-making, and use of the built environment, in addition to issues of inclusivity (rights to access), social impact, and ethical practice.
Proposals for paper presentations, workshops, posters/exhibits, or colloquia are invited.
The deadline for the next round in the call for papers (a title and short abstract) is 22 March, 2012.
