Swedish Research Links program works on a major objective to encourage research cooperation between Swedish scientists and scientists within selected low income-middle income countries.
The program offers grants for international collaborative research projects of premium scientific quality and of mutual relevance for scientists in Sweden and scientists in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa, Latin America and Europe. The program is open to scientists in basic and applied research within all academic areas.
Eligible countries for the year 2012:
- Sweden and the following countries:
- Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Rep. Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Viet Nam
- Middle East and North Africa (MENA): Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestinian adm. areas, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen
- Africa: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia
- Latin America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua
- Europe: Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldavia, Russia**, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine
The application is written jointly by scientists from at least two eligible countries. One of the applicants must be affiliated to a university in Sweden. The applicants must hold a doctoral degree. These grants are awarded for a maximum of 3 years (2013-2015). The grant may be used for joint activities including research visits between the partners, seminars, workshops, minor project costs and joint publications.
