Applications are invited for Youth network grants of around $5000 each. These grants are now open to organizations in the youth sector for programs as well as opportunities which help support South Australia’s young people. Youth Minister, Ian Hunter, said youth networks throughout the State are now eligible to apply for one-off grants of between $2000 and $5000.
The 2012 Youth Network Grants will support organizations working with young people to share information, collaborate on projects and ensure that services, programs and policy meet of the young people in their local area. Youth Networks offer valuable opportunities for workers across the youth sector to promote the sharing of information on extensive range of topics significant to young people. These include issues as employment, education and training, homelessness, drugs, alcohol and health.
This program supports the State Government’s commitment to better connections for young people through youth connect, South Australia’s Youth Strategy 2010-2014. Networks comprise members from Government and Non-Government organizations which work with young people in their local areas.
They help facilitate regular meetings for network members to share and disseminate information over the course of a year. The grants can be used for venue hire, guest speakers, travel of regional members to network meetings, professional development of network members, development of network resources and group training.
Applications for the grants close on 20 July, 2012.
