The EU has long maintained relations with nongovernmental organizations and other civil society organizations and with local and decentralized authorities in the field of development in Haiti.
The new thematic program “Non State Actors and Local Authorities in development “, which succeeds former budget lines, aimed at supporting initiatives proposed and / or implemented by civil society organizations and local authorities from the European Union European and partner countries in development.
This thematic program recognizes the important role that non-state actors and authorities local authorities should play in any policy and national development strategy.
Its main objectives are consistent with the Commission Communication on the thematic program “Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development”, adopted as part of financial perspective for the period 2007 to 2013.
Eligibility–
- be legal persons and nonprofit
- belong to one of the following categories: Local Authority (LA) 3 for Lot 2 and non-state actor (NSA) 4 for lots 1 and 3, established in accordance to national legislation in force and
- be nationalites of a Member State of the European Union (Lots 2 and 3) or the Republic of Haiti (All lots) and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with their partners and notacting as an intermediary
